Abstract

Anemia was one of the main problems for female teenagers at this time. Indonesian Basic Helath Research 2018 data showed the prevalence of anemia in female teenager is 32%. Female teenagers, including female students in boarding school, will give birth to the next generation. Therefore, female teenagers must have good nutritional status and be free of anemia. Based on a preliminary survey of 16 female students in the Darul Istiqomah Islamic boarding school, only three female students (18.75%) had good knowledge about anemia. Female students in boarding schools have to know about the impact of anemia. This community service intervention activity aims to increase the knowledge of female students and can determine their nutritional status correctly. The method used in this intervention were counseling and training methods. The result of the bivariate analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with p-value = 0.006 (p < 0.05) so that H0 was rejected. That means there were differences in the level of knowledge of the anemia between before and after the counseling. The female students in boarding school can determine their nutritional status through BMI and upper arm circumference measurement after the training. This activity concludes there are increases in the knowledge between before and after counseling female students. Female students in boarding school can determine BMI and measure the circumference of the upper arm.

Abstract

The number of positive confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia until June 2021 has reached 1.35 million. This condition continues to be controlled by the government to intensify the delivery of the Covid-19 vaccine, especially for educators and education. This is intended to minimize learning loss in schooling due to online learning during the face-to-face learning pandemic in 2022. Therefore, education and training for the discipline of handwashing with soap (CTPS) in breaking the transmission of covid-19 in schools are essential to be carried out massively, especially for students. This educational and training activity with a target of 22 students was carried out at SDN 1 Panji Lor, Situbondo, using augmented reality-based CTPS storybooks. The interactive discussion method was carried out to increase student participation. Knowledge improvement was measured using pre-test and post-test. Skill improvement is calculated by using the observation of CTPS practice activities. The analysis of knowledge data before and after education with the paired-sample t-test showed an increase in students' knowledge (p-value = 0.046). In addition, all students can practice the CTPS steps correctly and adequately in training activities. The use of augmented reality-based CTPS storybooks is concluded to increase students' knowledge and skills in doing good and correct CTPS.

Abstract

Hypertension is a disease that is a national health problem. The incidence of hypertension is quite high which is caused by an unhealthy lifestyle. Based on the 2018 Riskesdas, the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia in the population aged 18 years is 34.1%, it is known that 8.36% have been diagnosed with hypertension and 32.27% do not take medicine regularly and 13.33% do not take medicine. Based on a survey at the Ciceri Permai IV Complex, public awareness is still lacking for routine blood pressure checks and lack of awareness to routinely take hypertension medication for those who have been diagnosed with hypertension. This community service aimed to increase knowledge and awareness of hypertension prevention. The method used is community diagnostics to find out the main health problems, followed by counseling methods to solve the main problems. The location of this community service was carried out at RT 02 Ciceri Permai IV Complex, Serang District, Serang Regency, Banten. Community service will be held on April 28 – May 09, 2021 with a team consisting of 2 people, 1 lecturer and 1 student. Based on the community diagnostic, it is shown that hypertension is a major problem, the level of adherence to taking medication and routine blood pressure checks is still low. To overcome these problems, interventions were carried out in the form of counseling, checking blood pressure, providing blood pressure measuring devices and installing hypertension prevention posters in strategic locations. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon test, it showed p value = 0.03 meaning that there was a significant difference in the average knowledge before and after the intervention. Public knowledge and awareness in the effort to prevent hypertension can be increased by this community service activity. The community was also enthusiastic about checking blood pressure independently with the tools that have been provided.

Abstract

The application of health protocols, especially the use of masks has decreased, this was seen from the number of people who feel lazy and saturated to apply the use of masks when outdoors such as when trading. Therefore, the awareness and understanding of traders needs to be increased through the provision of education to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. Activities carried out in Air Hitam Village, Samarinda Ulu, were started from the identification of public health problems in traders related to Covid-19, data retrieval and processing, planning activities that are then implemented, and evaluation of activities. The priority of the problems found was the decrease in public awareness, especially traders related to the implementation of health protocols, especially the use of masks. Providing education to traders regarding efforts to prevent Covid-19 by implementing health protocols was carried out through preventive packages in the form of distributing masks and handwashing soap, poster about good and correct hand washing, and banner for mandatory mask areas. Traders have understood the prevention efforts delivered through preventive package programs and some of them have implemented it every day.
